Alison Sudol
I have found that music can be a male-dominated space to live in and so accepting this type of femininity has been an exciting challenge for me. I found it extremely difficult to admit, "Okay I can be robust, feminine, and soft. Make sure you take care of yourself and not diminish myself." The experience was one I enjoyed very much. I was in love with wearing shoes with dresses every day and the soft fabric. It was a bit of pressure since I am a newer actor than everyone else involved in Fantastic Beasts. It was a strange impression during the auditions that there was an enormous power behind me. I could be crushed under it, and fall apart because of how much I wanted to be there and how massive this was and then climb on the top and let it propel me upwards. It is a pleasure to spend time in museums, cafes, parks or taking a walk and observing how people live is something I like. In LA there is a possibility of being alone, but in London you can take the Tube and are right at the center of the crowd and just about every kind of person that you can imagine is walking by. I am awestruck by the people around me. I'm from a world of music where you're constantly in the company of males and it feels like you're surrounded by intimate relationships almost every minute working with men. These books are a dream fulfilled for myself. The books I've read during the tour were intense and vivid. It's a fantastic world to lose yourself and get lost in.
